SUB-COMMITTEES
MOAD promotes its goals and objectives through the following established sub-committees which shall consist of not more than seven (7) members, respectively
1. ADVOCACY committeE
1. Sensitization of people in the African community about local decisions affecting their interest
2. Advocating for policy changes that impact the people of African descent
3. Sensitization of people in the African community about voters’ registration
4. Sensitization of people in the African community about census registration and collaborating with the US Census Bureau in outreach programs to the African community
5. Encourage participation of members of the African community in the local, state, and federal political process.
6. Advocate and protect the rights of people of African descent
7. Create a legal foundation that addresses legal issues impacting people in the African community
8. Collaborate with other organizations with similar objectives in the attainment of its specific goals
2. membership & fundraising committee
1. Explore fundraising avenues for the organization
2. Conduct annual fundraising events for the organization
3. Implement fundraising policies approved by the BOD
4. Maintain and update financial records of donors
5. Organize membership drives at least once a year and present same to the GA for review and approval
6. Identify and maintain a list of African nations present in Massachusetts
7. Collaborate with other sub-committees to maximize its functions
8. Present written annual report of its activities to the GA through the EC
3. cultural committeE
1. Organize African Festival/Carnival in the community within Massachusetts at least once a year
2. Collaborate with the City of Worcester and/or State of Massachusetts to promote and advance African culture and history
3. Organize African and African American colloquium
4. Collaborate with other ethnic organizations in Massachusetts to maximize its functions
5. Establish a resource center dedicated to the education and promotion of African culture and history
6. Liaise with the education committee to maximize its functions

1. Organize health awareness program
2. Establish & Organize programs to address food insecurity in the African community
3. Partner with existing food insecurity agencies
4. Promote health equity in the African community
5. Establish health resource center
6. Maintain public and community health assessment data

1. Create a newsletter for the organization
2. Promote all activities of the organization in social media
3. Establish a resource center for the advancement of African history
4. Maintain and promote African owned businesses
5. Develop and maintain website for the organization
6. Collaborate with other media organization for the advancement of the organization
7. General mobilization in the community

Advocate to establish a Mayor's Commission on African/Black pupils education

Advocate and push for Pipeline Pathway Programs for African children from high school to Worcester’s 11 colleges and universities

Advocate for Worcester Public Schools to hire and retain people of color including African’s and African Americans as administrators, teachers, support staff, ESL and wrap around services, to name a few.
